Q: Which AMT products does the 20cm glass lid fit?
A: More than any other size on CookUp: the 20cm frying pan, the 20cm tossing pan, the 20cm braise pan and the 20cm two-spout milk and sauce pot, in both standard and induction versions.
Q: Is one 20cm lid enough for all of them?
A: In most kitchens, yes. Lids are shared across pans of the same diameter, so the question is how many 20cm pans you use at the same moment rather than how many you own.
Q: Does covering a small pan make much difference?
A: More than on a large one, proportionally. A small pan holds less heat, so it loses temperature quickly when uncovered, and a lid keeps a single portion cooking steadily instead of stalling.
Q: Should I cover a tossing pan?
A: Only when it is standing still. A lid is useful for the resting or steaming stage, but tossing and covering are opposite operations, so the lid comes off when the pan starts moving.
Q: Will this lid fit a 22cm pan?
A: No. Lid sizing is exact, and a 20cm lid on a 22cm pan will drop inside the rim rather than sit on it.
