Cleaning & Maintenance

> The base board can withstand all common detergents.
> The base board, including steel legs | rubber feet | click system, can be cleaned in a dishwasher or under the tap. The base board can also withstand scalding with boiling water.
> The base board will become scratched if it is used as a carving board for hot roasts and other foods. Depending on the foods for which it is used, the area of the base board used for cutting may become discoloured through time.
> The base board will expand when subjected to heat, for example in a dishwasher. It will, however, retract to its original size when cooled. Note that the base board and cutting sheets will only fit together properly if they are at the same temperature.
> Never place hot pots or pans directly on the base board.

FAQ

FAQ

People Also Ask:

Q: Which Private Series 670 should I choose?

A: Decide on two things: size and base colour. 24 x 34cm is the compact option, 30 x 50cm is a full prep surface, and the base comes in white or black.

Q: Does the base colour change anything?

A: Only the look. Same materials, same juice groove, same sheets. Black suits a board that goes to the table; white is the usual choice for a prep board.

Q: Is the black base a food colour?

A: No, and it catches people out. Black on a SHEET means serving. Black on the BASE is just a finish. The sheet carries the food code.

Q: How is the 670 different from the 270?

A: It has a juice groove built into the base and comes with three sheets. The 270 comes with six and takes the carving and chopping accessories.

Q: What comes in the box?

A: The board itself plus three sheets, whichever size and base colour you pick. The three are green, red and black, so vegetables, raw meat and serving are covered from day one.

Q: What else can I add?

A: The other four colours: yellow for poultry, blue for seafood, white for dairy and purple for allergens, in the size matching your board.

Q: What is the gripper edge for?

A: Holding the board when it is wet, which is when boards get dropped. Small feature, and you notice it the first time your hands are slippery.

Q: Does it slide on the counter?

A: It sits on rubber feet designed to grip. On the compact size that matters more than you would think, because there is less weight holding it down.

Q: Is it suitable for hot food?

A: The base has a juice groove and is described as suitable for carving hot roasts. The sheets themselves are for cold ingredients, so carve on the base rather than on a sheet.

Q: Is it certified?

A: Yes. Profboard products are NSF certified to NSF/ANSI 2 and the materials are food safe throughout.
