Cleaning & Maintenance

> The base board can withstand all common detergents.
> The base board, including steel legs | rubber feet | click system, can be cleaned in a dishwasher or under the tap. The base board can also withstand scalding with boiling water.
> The base board will become scratched if it is used as a carving board for hot roasts and other foods. Depending on the foods for which it is used, the area of the base board used for cutting may become discoloured through time.
> The base board will expand when subjected to heat, for example in a dishwasher. It will, however, retract to its original size when cooled. Note that the base board and cutting sheets will only fit together properly if they are at the same temperature.
> Never place hot pots or pans directly on the base board.

FAQ

FAQ

People Also Ask:

Q: Which sheets do I get in the box?

A: Three: green, red and black. In the Profboard system that is vegetables, raw meat and serving.

Q: Is that enough to start with?

A: For most home kitchens, yes. Keeping raw meat away from vegetables is the separation that prevents the most harm, and the black sheet gives you a clean surface for finished food.

Q: What is missing?

A: Poultry, seafood, dairy and allergens, which are yellow, blue, white and purple. If you cook a lot of chicken or fish, or you cook around an allergy, those are worth adding.

Q: Why is there a separate colour for allergens?

A: Because an allergen needs a surface that has never touched the thing being avoided. Purple gives you a sheet that is only ever used for that, which is easier to be certain about than washing between jobs.

Q: Is 30 x 50cm a good size?

A: It is the larger of the two Private Series boards and it works as a real prep surface rather than a small chopping board. It suits most kitchens comfortably.

Q: Does it have a juice groove?

A: Yes, built into the base. That makes it suitable for resting and carving hot roasts as well as everyday chopping.

Q: How long do the sheets last?

A: It depends entirely on how much you cut, not how long you own them. When one is heavily scored you replace that sheet, and you can use both sides before you do.

Q: Are replacement sheets easy to get?

A: Yes, in singles or five packs, in every colour, in the size that matches your board. Just check the size, since the sheets are not interchangeable between board sizes.

Q: Can I put it in the dishwasher?

A: Yes, both parts. The base will expand slightly with the heat and return to size as it cools, so let it cool before you click a sheet back on.

Q: Are the materials safe for food?

A: Yes throughout. The base is food safe high density polyethylene, the sheets are food safe polypropylene, and Profboard products are NSF certified to NSF/ANSI 2.
