PROFESSIONALS TRUST US – FOR A LIFETIME
The knife is the extension of the chef's arm. With the Premier Plus series, your knife works practically by itself. This gives you time not only to concentrate on your craft, but also to give your creativity free rein to create exciting dishes. This is exactly what trained professional chefs and our top chefs appreciate about the F. DICK brand - quality that will accompany you for a lifetime.

FORGED BALANCE
All Premier Plus knives are forged and perfectly balanced. Already during the development of the knives, we placed special emphasis on optimising the weight distribution between the blade and the handle so that the knife feels light and comfortable in your hand. Imagine your handle is too heavy or your blade too heavy. Your knife would always tend towards the heavy side and you would have to fight against the weight when cutting. This will certainly not happen with Premier Plus knives.

SHARP
The blade is made of the high quality X50CrMoV15 steel alloy. Each component of this steel has its own impressive features. Thanks to the high carbon content, the edge retains its sharpness for a particularly long time, the chromium content reduces wear and the molybdenum makes your knife particularly corrosion-resistant. We have also decided to polish the cutting edge to give the knives a special sharpness. Premier Plus knives are uncompromising in their design when it comes to sharpness. The food is cut exactly and not broken or squashed. This way, you work with precise, clean cuts, allowing the variety of flavours in the dish to come to the fore.

ERGONOMIC HANDLE
The Premier Plus knives support you in your kitchen adventures. Our special handle concept also speaks for itself: The handle and blade are joined together without gaps, making them particularly hygienic and easy to maintain. The handle feels comfortable and adapts to your hand thanks to its ergonomic design. This is important to prevent your hand from tiring quickly when you use the knife for a long time.

KNIFE CARE
All F. DICK knives deserve special care and attention when it comes to maintenance. Proper knife care is crucial. Knives that are forged or have a wooden handle should never be cleaned in the dishwasher. Knives with plastic handles are completely dishwasher safe; however cleaning in a dishwasher is much more aggressive than washing by hand.

The use of highly concentrated detergents, leaving the knives in hot steam for a long time and also the presence of certain food residues can lead to pitting on the blades or even corrosion. We recommend clean the knife by hand with a soft cloth and a mild alkaline detergent. Wipe your knife after cleaning to ensure that tit is thoroughly dry – this will prevent any pitting on the blade. You can occasionally maintain knives with wooden handles with food-safe oils (e.g. olive oil). The oil makes the handle nice and smooth and prevents shrinkage and cracks.

PROFESSIONAL KNIFE STORAGE
For your safety and to protect the cutting edges of the blades, we recommend that you store the knives in a suitable knife block or on a magnetic rail. When buying a knife block, make sure you buy one with enough space and horizontal slots to protect the knife blades. We recommend our own blade guard for storage in a drawer - Edge Guard. or alternatively, dimensionally accurate compartments built into the drawer.

BLADE GUARD FOR KNIVES
Blade guard – Edge Guard, the special blade guard for storage, especially in drawers. Click here to see the blade guard for blades up to 26 cm.

KNIFE BLOCK FOR KNIVES
Knife block: Knife block with tourne knife, paring knife, boning knife, carving knife, bread knife, chef's knife, meat fork, sharpening steel and kitchen shears.

HOW DO KNIVES STAY SHARP FOR A LONG TIME?
Knives stay sharp for a long time if they are only used for their intended purpose. The knives should only be used for cutting and not chopping. Bones or the like should therefore only be cut with a cleaver.

WOODEN OR PLASTIC CUTTING BASES
Hard surfaces such as stone (e.g. marble) or glass should not be used as a base, as they quickly blunt the knives.

People Also Ask:

Q: What is the F. Dick Premier Eurasia Gyuto Black 7" best used for?

A: The F. Dick Premier Eurasia Gyuto Black 7" is designed as a versatile Japanese-style chef knife for precision slicing, fine vegetable prep, portioning proteins, and fast line work. Its Gyuto profile combines the agility of a Japanese chef knife with the balanced handling expected from the Premier Plus series. The slimmer blade geometry supports clean, controlled cuts through vegetables, boneless meats, herbs, and fish, while the 7" size offers maneuverability in tighter prep environments. For professional chefs and serious home cooks, this knife works especially well as an all-purpose prep knife where speed, edge control, and precision matter more than heavy-duty chopping. The black handle and forged construction also align with kitchens that prioritize durable, professional-grade tools with a restrained visual profile.

Q: Who should use the F. Dick Premier Eurasia Gyuto Black 7"?

A: The F. Dick Premier Eurasia Gyuto Black 7" is best suited to chefs, culinary students, line cooks, and experienced home cooks who prefer precise, controlled cutting performance. The knife fits users who work with vegetables, proteins, herbs, and fine prep tasks throughout the day. Its Gyuto shape supports push cuts, pull cuts, and detailed slicing techniques commonly used in modern professional kitchens. Because the knife belongs to the Premier Plus series, it also appeals to buyers looking for a forged German knife with a more refined cutting profile than traditional heavy Western chef knives. Culinary students and developing professionals often appreciate the balance between control, durability, and adaptability.

Q: What makes the Premier Plus series different from other F. Dick knife series?

A: The Premier Plus series focuses on traditional forged construction, balanced handling, and professional kitchen durability. Compared with more visually distinctive series such as Red Spirit or 1905, Premier Plus emphasizes classic ergonomics and practical day-to-day performance. The series is built for repeated professional use where grip security, edge retention, and predictable handling are more important than decorative elements. For many chefs, Premier Plus represents a dependable workhorse series that transitions easily between prep stations, culinary schools, restaurants, and home kitchens without requiring a specialized cutting style.

Q: Can the F. Dick Premier Eurasia Gyuto Black 7" handle daily professional prep work?

A: Yes. The F. Dick Premier Eurasia Gyuto Black 7" is designed for repeated daily use in professional kitchen environments. Its forged construction, balanced blade profile, and ergonomic handle support long prep sessions with reduced fatigue and consistent control. The Gyuto blade shape is particularly effective for repetitive slicing and precision vegetable work commonly found in restaurant prep stations. Professional users typically choose this style of knife when they need versatility without moving to a larger, heavier chef knife.

Q: Is the F. Dick Premier Eurasia Gyuto Black 7" suitable for culinary students?

A: Yes. The knife is well suited to culinary students who want a professional-grade knife that supports skill development across multiple prep techniques. The 7" blade length is easier to control than oversized chef knives, especially for users refining knife handling, cutting accuracy, and station organization. The Gyuto profile also introduces students to more precise slicing techniques often used in modern kitchens. Because the knife comes from a professional forged series, students can continue using it as they transition into commercial kitchen environments.

Q: Can the F. Dick Premier Eurasia Gyuto Black 7" replace a standard chef knife?

A: For many users, yes. The Gyuto format functions as an all-purpose chef knife with a stronger emphasis on precision and slicing performance. Compared with heavier Western chef knives, the Gyuto profile generally feels more agile and refined during detailed prep work. It performs especially well for vegetables, boneless proteins, herbs, and fine slicing applications. However, users who regularly split poultry joints, cut through hard squash, or perform heavier production tasks may still prefer a larger Western chef knife for those applications.

Q: How sharp is the F. Dick Premier Eurasia Gyuto Black 7"?

A: The F. Dick Premier Eurasia Gyuto Black 7" is engineered for precise, clean cutting performance suitable for professional kitchen use. The slimmer Gyuto blade geometry supports fine edge performance and controlled slicing with less resistance during prep. This allows cleaner cuts through herbs, vegetables, fish, and proteins while helping preserve ingredient texture and presentation. Like other professional forged knives, long-term sharpness also depends on proper honing, sharpening, cutting surfaces, and storage practices.

Q: What cutting style is the F. Dick Premier Eurasia Gyuto Black 7" designed for?

A: The knife is optimized for precise slicing, push cutting, and controlled rocking motions. Its blade profile supports modern prep workflows where chefs move quickly between herbs, vegetables, proteins, and fine garnish work. The Gyuto design generally favors fluid, efficient motion rather than force-heavy chopping. For users transitioning from traditional German chef knives, the knife often feels lighter and more agile during repetitive prep tasks.

Q: How does the 7" blade size affect performance?

A: The 7" blade size improves maneuverability and control while still providing enough length for most professional prep applications. Many chefs prefer this size in smaller kitchens, crowded prep stations, or fast-paced environments where precision matters more than maximum cutting length. It is particularly effective for vegetable prep, fine slicing, and compact workstation setups. For larger proteins or high-volume production prep, some users may still prefer an 8" or 10" chef knife for additional reach.

Q: Is the F. Dick Premier Eurasia Gyuto Black 7" comfortable for extended prep sessions?

A: Yes. The Premier Plus series is designed with balanced ergonomics intended for repeated professional use. The forged construction helps distribute weight evenly between the blade and handle, reducing unnecessary strain during extended prep work. The handle shape also supports secure grip positioning in both professional pinch grips and standard handle grips. This balance is especially important in restaurant kitchens where repetitive cutting motion can contribute to fatigue over time.

Q: How durable is the F. Dick Premier Eurasia Gyuto Black 7"?

A: The knife is built for long-term professional kitchen use when maintained properly. Its forged construction provides structural strength and stable blade performance under repeated prep workloads. The knife is designed for precision cutting tasks rather than heavy impact applications such as bone cutting or frozen foods. Using proper cutting boards, regular honing, and correct storage practices will help preserve both edge quality and overall lifespan.

Q: Does the F. Dick Premier Eurasia Gyuto Black 7" require special maintenance?

A: No specialized maintenance is required, but professional knife care practices are recommended. Hand washing, immediate drying, regular honing, and proper storage help preserve edge performance and handle condition over time. Like most professional forged knives, the knife should not be left in sinks, dishwashers, or wet prep environments for prolonged periods. Routine maintenance is especially important in high-volume kitchens where knives are used continuously throughout service.

Q: Can the F. Dick Premier Eurasia Gyuto Black 7" be sharpened with standard professional sharpening systems?

A: Yes. The knife is compatible with standard professional sharpening methods, including whetstones and professional knife sharpening systems. Many professional users also pair forged F. Dick knives with sharpening steels for routine edge maintenance between sharpening sessions. Proper sharpening angle and technique remain important for preserving cutting performance. Users unfamiliar with knife sharpening may benefit from periodic professional sharpening service.

Q: What is included with the F. Dick Premier Eurasia Gyuto Black 7"?

A: The product includes the forged Gyuto knife from the F. Dick Premier Plus series with black handle construction. Packaging and accessory configurations may vary depending on supplier or regional distribution setup. Buyers looking for storage, transport, or sharpening accessories may wish to explore compatible knife rolls, guards, or maintenance tools separately.

Q: What type of kitchens is the F. Dick Premier Eurasia Gyuto Black 7" best suited for?

A: The knife performs well in professional kitchens, culinary schools, catering operations, and serious home cooking environments. Its compact, versatile profile supports prep-intensive workflows where chefs regularly move between vegetables, herbs, proteins, and plating work. The size also makes it practical for smaller prep stations and mobile culinary setups. For high-volume butcher work or heavy fabrication, larger specialized knives may still be more appropriate.

Q: How does the F. Dick Premier Eurasia Gyuto Black 7" compare to a traditional German chef knife?

A: The Premier Eurasia Gyuto generally offers a more agile and precision-focused cutting experience than a traditional heavy German chef knife. Its slimmer profile and Gyuto geometry support cleaner slicing and finer control during vegetable and protein prep. Traditional German chef knives often prioritize heavier rocking cuts and broader blade shapes for more force-oriented kitchen tasks. Many chefs choose Gyuto knives when they want faster, more refined prep performance without fully moving away from forged German construction quality.

Q: How does the F. Dick Premier Eurasia Gyuto Black 7" compare to Japanese Gyuto knives?

A: The knife combines Japanese-inspired Gyuto functionality with the durability and handling characteristics associated with German forged knives. Compared with some ultra-hard Japanese blades, the Premier Eurasia Gyuto may feel slightly more forgiving in professional kitchen environments where durability and maintenance practicality are important. It balances precision cutting performance with the sturdier feel many chefs expect from Western forged knives. This hybrid approach often appeals to chefs who want Japanese-style versatility without transitioning fully to highly specialized Japanese knife maintenance requirements.

Q: Is the F. Dick Premier Eurasia Gyuto Black 7" reliable during high-volume service?

A: Yes. The knife is designed to maintain control, consistency, and comfort during repeated prep work in demanding kitchen environments. Its forged balance and versatile blade geometry support rapid transitions between herbs, vegetables, proteins, and plating prep without constantly switching knives. Many chefs value this type of knife because it combines precision handling with dependable day-to-day durability. The 7" format also works well in tighter stations where oversized knives can become cumbersome during service.

Q: Is the F. Dick Premier Eurasia Gyuto Black 7" easy to learn with?

A: Yes. The knife offers a manageable balance of control, precision, and versatility that supports skill development across multiple prep techniques. The moderate blade length helps newer users improve cutting accuracy and grip positioning without feeling oversized or difficult to maneuver. Students also benefit from using a professional forged knife early in training, since the handling characteristics align more closely with commercial kitchen expectations. Its versatility allows users to practice a wide range of cutting techniques using a single primary knife.

Q: Is the F. Dick Premier Eurasia Gyuto Black 7" practical for everyday cooking?

A: Yes. The knife adapts well to daily meal preparation while offering professional-level cutting performance. It handles common household prep tasks such as vegetable cutting, herb work, slicing proteins, and general kitchen prep with strong precision and control. Many serious home cooks prefer this style because it feels refined and efficient without requiring a large commercial kitchen setup. The forged construction also supports long-term ownership when maintained correctly.
