PROFESSIONALS TRUST US – FOR A LIFETIME
The knife is the extension of the chef's arm. With the Premier Plus series, your knife works practically by itself. This gives you time not only to concentrate on your craft, but also to give your creativity free rein to create exciting dishes. This is exactly what trained professional chefs and our top chefs appreciate about the F. DICK brand - quality that will accompany you for a lifetime.

FORGED BALANCE
All Premier Plus knives are forged and perfectly balanced. Already during the development of the knives, we placed special emphasis on optimising the weight distribution between the blade and the handle so that the knife feels light and comfortable in your hand. Imagine your handle is too heavy or your blade too heavy. Your knife would always tend towards the heavy side and you would have to fight against the weight when cutting. This will certainly not happen with Premier Plus knives.

SHARP
The blade is made of the high quality X50CrMoV15 steel alloy. Each component of this steel has its own impressive features. Thanks to the high carbon content, the edge retains its sharpness for a particularly long time, the chromium content reduces wear and the molybdenum makes your knife particularly corrosion-resistant. We have also decided to polish the cutting edge to give the knives a special sharpness. Premier Plus knives are uncompromising in their design when it comes to sharpness. The food is cut exactly and not broken or squashed. This way, you work with precise, clean cuts, allowing the variety of flavours in the dish to come to the fore.

ERGONOMIC HANDLE
The Premier Plus knives support you in your kitchen adventures. Our special handle concept also speaks for itself: The handle and blade are joined together without gaps, making them particularly hygienic and easy to maintain. The handle feels comfortable and adapts to your hand thanks to its ergonomic design. This is important to prevent your hand from tiring quickly when you use the knife for a long time.

KNIFE CARE
All F. DICK knives deserve special care and attention when it comes to maintenance. Proper knife care is crucial. Knives that are forged or have a wooden handle should never be cleaned in the dishwasher. Knives with plastic handles are completely dishwasher safe; however cleaning in a dishwasher is much more aggressive than washing by hand.

The use of highly concentrated detergents, leaving the knives in hot steam for a long time and also the presence of certain food residues can lead to pitting on the blades or even corrosion. We recommend clean the knife by hand with a soft cloth and a mild alkaline detergent. Wipe your knife after cleaning to ensure that tit is thoroughly dry – this will prevent any pitting on the blade. You can occasionally maintain knives with wooden handles with food-safe oils (e.g. olive oil). The oil makes the handle nice and smooth and prevents shrinkage and cracks.

PROFESSIONAL KNIFE STORAGE
For your safety and to protect the cutting edges of the blades, we recommend that you store the knives in a suitable knife block or on a magnetic rail. When buying a knife block, make sure you buy one with enough space and horizontal slots to protect the knife blades. We recommend our own blade guard for storage in a drawer - Edge Guard. or alternatively, dimensionally accurate compartments built into the drawer.

KNIFE BLOCK FOR KNIVES
Knife block: Knife block with tourne knife, paring knife, boning knife, carving knife, bread knife, chef's knife, meat fork, sharpening steel and kitchen shears.

HOW DO KNIVES STAY SHARP FOR A LONG TIME?
Knives stay sharp for a long time if they are only used for their intended purpose. The knives should only be used for cutting and not chopping. Bones or the like should therefore only be cut with a cleaver.

WOODEN OR PLASTIC CUTTING BASES
Hard surfaces such as stone (e.g. marble) or glass should not be used as a base, as they quickly blunt the knives.

People Also Ask:

Q: What is the F. Dick Premier Plus Eurasia Utility Knife Serrated Black 10" best for?

A: The F. Dick Premier Plus Eurasia Utility Knife Serrated Black 10" is best suited for slicing foods with delicate interiors and tougher outer surfaces, including crusty bread, tomatoes, citrus, sandwiches, roasted proteins, and portioned pastries. Its long serrated blade allows the knife to grip and cut cleanly without crushing soft textures underneath. This makes it especially useful in professional kitchens where consistent presentation matters during service and prep. The extended blade length also supports longer slicing motions, reducing unnecessary pressure during cutting. Within the Premier Plus series, this knife fits cooks and culinary teams looking for a forged German knife with a traditional professional feel and dependable daily performance. The serrated edge is particularly practical in environments where quick service and repeated slicing tasks are common.

Q: Who should use the F. Dick Premier Plus Eurasia Utility Knife Serrated Black 10"?

A: This knife is designed for chefs, catering teams, sandwich stations, bakery operations, and serious home cooks who regularly handle precision slicing tasks. Professional users benefit from the forged construction, balanced handling, and long blade profile during repetitive prep work. The serrated edge reduces tearing when slicing delicate or crusted products, helping maintain cleaner presentation during service. For serious home cooks, the knife offers professional-grade cutting performance without requiring specialized technique. Its versatility makes it useful for both everyday kitchen prep and entertaining applications.

Q: What makes the Premier Plus series different from other F. Dick knife series?

A: The Premier Plus series focuses on classic forged German knife construction with a balanced, traditional professional feel. Compared to more visually distinctive lines such as Red Spirit or 1905, Premier Plus emphasizes practical daily utility and familiar ergonomics. The forged blade construction contributes to stability, durability, and controlled handling during long prep sessions. Many professional kitchens prefer the Premier Plus series because it prioritizes performance consistency and comfort over decorative design elements. It fits naturally into high-volume culinary environments where reliability matters more than presentation aesthetics.

Q: Can the F. Dick Premier Plus Eurasia Utility Knife Serrated Black 10" handle high-volume prep work?

A: Yes. The knife is well suited for repeated slicing tasks in busy commercial kitchens, cafés, catering operations, and sandwich programs. The long serrated blade maintains cutting efficiency across products with mixed textures, reducing drag and minimizing product damage during continuous prep. This is particularly useful when slicing bread, prepared sandwiches, tomatoes, or roasted proteins in volume. The forged Premier Plus construction also supports stability and long-term durability under regular professional use. The ergonomic handle helps reduce fatigue during extended prep periods.

Q: Is the F. Dick Premier Plus Eurasia Utility Knife Serrated Black 10" suitable for professional kitchens?

A: Yes. The knife is designed specifically for professional culinary environments where precision, reliability, and workflow efficiency matter. Its serrated edge performs consistently during repetitive slicing applications, especially on products that are difficult to cut cleanly with a straight edge. The forged blade construction provides controlled handling and dependable balance during service prep. This knife fits naturally into prep stations, garde manger setups, bakery programs, and front-of-house sandwich production where clean presentation and speed are both important.

Q: Can this knife replace a bread knife?

A: In some workflows, yes, although it depends on the products being prepared. The serrated edge performs well on crusted bread, baguettes, sandwiches, and pastries. Its narrower utility profile also gives users more control during detailed slicing tasks than a wider traditional bread knife. However, kitchens producing large quantities of oversized artisan loaves may still prefer a dedicated bread knife for maximum efficiency. This knife works particularly well as a versatile crossover tool between utility slicing and bread service.

Q: Is the F. Dick Premier Plus Eurasia Utility Knife Serrated Black 10" suitable for beginners?

A: Yes. The serrated edge design makes the knife relatively approachable for users developing knife skills. Because the serrations help grip product surfaces naturally, less downward pressure is often required during slicing. This can improve cutting confidence for newer users handling delicate produce or crusted foods. At the same time, the knife still delivers the balance and handling expected from a professional forged series, making it appropriate for culinary students and advancing home cooks who want a long-term kitchen tool.

Q: How durable is the F. Dick Premier Plus Eurasia Utility Knife Serrated Black 10"?

A: The knife is built for long-term professional use with forged German construction intended for repeated daily kitchen work. The Premier Plus series is known for dependable edge stability, balanced handling, and structural durability under demanding prep conditions. The forged blade design supports strength and cutting control while maintaining a refined feel during use. Like all professional knives, proper care and regular maintenance help preserve long-term performance. Hand washing and appropriate storage are recommended to protect both the blade and handle finish.

Q: What results should users expect from the serrated edge?

A: Users should expect cleaner slicing with less crushing or tearing on delicate foods. The serrations help the blade grip tougher exteriors while protecting softer interiors. This is especially useful for tomatoes, crusty bread, layered sandwiches, citrus, pastries, and roasted proteins with textured surfaces. In practical kitchen use, this improves presentation consistency and reduces waste caused by damaged products during slicing.

Q: How does the 10" blade length affect performance?

A: The longer blade length supports smoother slicing motions and improved efficiency on larger products. Instead of using short cutting strokes, the extended profile allows users to complete slices with fewer interruptions. This creates cleaner cuts and better control when portioning sandwiches, breads, cakes, or larger prepared items. Professional users often prefer longer utility-style serrated knives because they improve workflow speed during service prep.

Q: Is the knife comfortable for extended prep sessions?

A: Yes. The Premier Plus series is designed with professional ergonomics in mind. The handle shape supports a secure and controlled grip during repetitive cutting tasks. Combined with the forged balance of the blade, this helps reduce hand fatigue during extended prep periods. This matters particularly in catering kitchens, sandwich stations, bakery operations, and production environments where repetitive slicing is common throughout the day.

Q: Does the F. Dick Premier Plus Eurasia Utility Knife Serrated Black 10" require special sharpening?

A: Serrated knives require different sharpening methods than straight-edge knives. Because of the serrated edge geometry, sharpening is typically less frequent, but maintenance should be performed using tools designed for serrated blades or by professional sharpening services familiar with commercial knives. Regular honing is generally not performed the same way as with straight-edge chef knives. Proper maintenance helps preserve the cutting performance and tooth structure of the serrations.

Q: Is this knife easy to maintain in a commercial kitchen?

A: Yes. The knife is designed for practical daily use in professional environments. The forged construction and durable handle materials support repeated cleaning and handling during service operations. The serrated edge also tends to maintain effective slicing performance longer between sharpenings compared to some straight-edge applications. For best long-term results, hand washing and dry storage are recommended rather than prolonged dishwasher exposure.

Q: What types of food does this knife handle best?

A: This knife performs best on foods with contrasting textures. Examples include crusted breads, tomatoes, citrus fruits, sandwiches, roasted meats, pastries, cakes, and delicate produce with firm skins. The serrated edge helps maintain structure during slicing while improving control across difficult surfaces.

Q: What is included with the F. Dick Premier Plus Eurasia Utility Knife Serrated Black 10"?

A: The knife includes the forged serrated utility knife with the Premier Plus black handle configuration. The product is part of the broader F. Dick Premier Plus professional knife series, which includes additional chef knives, carving knives, paring knives, and specialty kitchen tools designed around a consistent handling philosophy. This allows kitchens and culinary teams to standardize across a complete professional knife system if desired.

Q: How does the F. Dick Premier Plus Eurasia Utility Knife compare to a straight-edge utility knife?

A: The serrated version is generally better for foods with firm exteriors and delicate interiors. A straight-edge utility knife is often preferred for clean slicing of proteins, herbs, or precise prep work where a smooth edge is advantageous. The serrated utility knife performs better on crusted, soft, or textured products that might compress under a straight blade. Many professional kitchens keep both styles available because they serve different prep functions efficiently.

Q: How does the Premier Plus series compare to F. Dick Red Spirit knives?

A: Premier Plus emphasizes traditional forged German handling and classic professional ergonomics, while Red Spirit offers a more modern visual identity and different handle styling. Premier Plus is often preferred by chefs who want a conventional professional knife feel with balanced weight and understated design. Red Spirit appeals more to users looking for a contemporary aesthetic and a more visually distinctive tool. Both series are designed for professional culinary performance, but the handling preference is often personal and workflow dependent.

Q: Is the F. Dick Premier Plus Eurasia Utility Knife Serrated Black 10" reliable for catering operations?

A: Yes. The knife is particularly effective in catering environments where speed, consistency, and presentation quality matter. Its long serrated blade handles high-volume sandwich prep, plated dessert slicing, bread service, and buffet production efficiently. The forged construction also supports repeated transport, setup, and prep demands common in catering workflows. For catering teams managing mixed menus, the knife offers versatility without requiring multiple specialty slicers.

Q: Is the F. Dick Premier Plus Eurasia Utility Knife a good option for culinary students?

A: Yes. Culinary students benefit from using a professional-grade knife that supports proper cutting control and long-term skill development. The serrated edge improves confidence during slicing tasks while the forged balance introduces students to the feel of traditional professional kitchen tools. Because the knife covers multiple prep applications, it can remain useful well beyond training environments. It is especially practical for students learning sandwich production, garde manger prep, and presentation-focused slicing work.

Q: Is the F. Dick Premier Plus Eurasia Utility Knife suitable for serious home cooks?

A: Yes. Serious home cooks who value professional-quality kitchen tools will appreciate the knife’s versatility and controlled handling. The serrated edge performs especially well during entertaining, meal prep, and everyday slicing applications where presentation matters. Its longer blade also makes it useful for larger breads, sandwiches, and shared serving platters. For home users seeking a professional forged knife without overly specialized geometry, this knife offers a balanced and approachable option.
