AN EXTRAORDINARY FEEL IN PINK
The round, typically Asian-inspired handle has an unusual feel to it. It sits perfectly in your hand and meets all the ergonomic requirements of professional chefs and ambitious amateur chefs. The non-slip handle made of high-quality plastic allows you to guide the knife harmoniously and comfortably – a particular advantage during intensive use.

Onions, mushrooms and herbs – small, fine and easy to handle: The Pink Spirit series paring knife is a secret favourite in any kitchen. A delight in the hand. After all, nearly all peeling work, small cutting tasks and garnishing can be performed effortlessly with this type of knife. The Pink Spirit series works with a contrast in design: the knife handle is harmonious, and round while the cutting edge is clear, precise and sharp. The 9 cm long blade is made of X50CrMoV15 and designed with outstanding sharpness. The pink handle is made of plastic. The balanced hardness of 56 HRC guarantees perfect edge retention and easy re-sharpening at the same time. Made by Friedr. Dick. Made in Germany.

MADE IN GERMANY
A good knife requires many work steps. Our Red Spirit knives go through numerous production steps at our Deizisau site before they are finished. Starting with the machining of the steel and right through to the finishing of the cutting edge, everything made in Germany – for the love of quality.

UNCOMPROMISING SHARPNESS
The blades are designed with an uncompromising eye for sharpness, which is why they are ground extra slim. Like all our knives, the Pink Spirit series is made of high-alloy stainless steel, so you can take pleasure in the edge retention of your knives for years to come.

KNIFE CARE
All F. DICK knives deserve special care and attention when it comes to maintenance. Proper knife care is crucial. Knives that are forged or have a wooden handle should never be cleaned in the dishwasher. Knives with plastic handles are completely dishwasher safe; however cleaning in a dishwasher is much more aggressive than washing by hand.

The use of highly concentrated detergents, leaving the knives in hot steam for a long time and also the presence of certain food residues can lead to pitting on the blades or even corrosion. We recommend clean the knife by hand with a soft cloth and a mild alkaline detergent. Wipe your knife after cleaning to ensure that tit is thoroughly dry – this will prevent any pitting on the blade. You can occasionally maintain knives with wooden handles with food-safe oils (e.g. olive oil). The oil makes the handle nice and smooth and prevents shrinkage and cracks.

PROFESSIONAL KNIFE STORAGE
For your safety and to protect the cutting edges of the blades, we recommend that you store the knives in a suitable knife block or on a magnetic rail. When buying a knife block, make sure you buy one with enough space and horizontal slots to protect the knife blades. We recommend our own blade guard for storage in a drawer - Edge Guard. or alternatively, dimensionally accurate compartments built into the drawer.

BLADE GUARD FOR KNIVES
Blade guard – Edge Guard, the special blade guard for storage, especially in drawers. Click here to see the blade guard for blades up to 26 cm.

KNIFE BLOCK FOR KNIVES
Knife block: Knife block with tourne knife, paring knife, boning knife, carving knife, bread knife, chef's knife, meat fork, sharpening steel and kitchen shears.

HOW DO KNIVES STAY SHARP FOR A LONG TIME?
Knives stay sharp for a long time if they are only used for their intended purpose. The knives should only be used for cutting and not chopping. Bones or the like should therefore only be cut with a cleaver.

WOODEN OR PLASTIC CUTTING BASES
Hard surfaces such as stone (e.g. marble) or glass should not be used as a base, as they quickly blunt the knives.

FAQ

FAQ

People Also Ask:

Q: What is the F. Dick Pink Spirit Paring Knife 3.5" best for?

A: The F. Dick Pink Spirit Paring Knife 3.5" is best suited for precision prep tasks such as peeling, trimming, garnishing, slicing small fruits, and detailed hand work on a cutting board or directly in hand. Its compact blade length gives users greater control during delicate prep work where larger chef knives feel oversized or less precise. In professional kitchens, paring knives are commonly used for tournée cuts, citrus work, shallot trimming, strawberry hulling, and fine garnish preparation. The Pink Spirit series combines the functional profile of the Red Spirit line with a more distinctive visual identity. That makes this knife especially appealing for chefs, culinary students, and serious home cooks who want professional cutting performance in a more personal or visually expressive format.

Q: Who should use the F. Dick Pink Spirit Paring Knife 3.5"?

A: The F. Dick Pink Spirit Paring Knife 3.5" is designed for chefs, culinary students, pastry professionals, caterers, and serious home cooks who regularly perform detailed prep work. In professional environments, a paring knife is one of the most frequently used secondary knives after the chef knife. It handles small, repetitive precision tasks efficiently while reducing fatigue during close hand cutting. For culinary students and newer cooks, the shorter blade can also feel easier to control than a larger utility or chef knife. Experienced professionals often keep a paring knife nearby throughout service for garnish, fruit prep, herb work, and finishing tasks.

Q: What makes the Pink Spirit series different from other F. Dick knife series?

A: The Pink Spirit series combines the ergonomic profile and professional cutting geometry of the Red Spirit line with a more distinctive pink handle design. Like other professional F. Dick collections, the series focuses on balance, cutting control, and daily usability rather than decorative styling alone. The difference is primarily aesthetic and personal rather than structural. Users who already appreciate the Red Spirit platform often choose Pink Spirit for its more expressive appearance or gift oriented appeal. Within the broader F. Dick range, Pink Spirit sits closer to modern professional series such as Red Spirit and ActiveCut rather than traditional forged collections like 1905 or Premier Plus.

Q: Is the F. Dick Pink Spirit Paring Knife 3.5" suitable for professional kitchens?

A: Yes. The F. Dick Pink Spirit Paring Knife 3.5" is suitable for professional kitchen environments where precise, repetitive prep work is part of daily workflow. Paring knives are essential station tools in garde manger, pastry, prep, and finishing applications. Dick knives are widely associated with professional culinary use, particularly among chefs, butchers, and culinary teams that prioritize reliability, edge retention, and ergonomic handling during long prep sessions.

Q: Can the F. Dick Pink Spirit Paring Knife 3.5" handle in hand cutting tasks?

A: Yes. The compact blade shape and lightweight handling make the knife well suited for controlled in hand prep tasks. Many professional cooks use paring knives for peeling apples, segmenting citrus, trimming mushrooms, deveining shrimp, or removing imperfections from produce directly by hand. The shorter blade provides more tactile feedback and precision than a longer utility knife. As with any professional kitchen knife, careful technique and controlled movement remain important for safety and accuracy.

Q: Is the F. Dick Pink Spirit Paring Knife 3.5" suitable for beginners?

A: Yes. The smaller blade profile often makes paring knives approachable for beginners while still offering professional level cutting performance. Newer cooks typically find compact knives easier to maneuver during fine prep tasks. The reduced blade length can help improve confidence during precision work such as peeling, slicing strawberries, or trimming herbs. At the same time, the knife remains fully capable for experienced culinary professionals who expect consistent edge control and efficient handling during service prep.

A: The F. Dick Pink Spirit Paring Knife 3.5" is designed to deliver the sharpness and cutting precision expected from professional German culinary knives. F. Dick is recognized for producing knives focused on practical cutting performance, edge retention, and reliable daily use in commercial kitchens. A properly maintained paring knife should move cleanly through fruits, herbs, shallots, garlic, and delicate produce without crushing or tearing. Because precision knives are used for detail work, maintaining the edge with proper honing and periodic sharpening is especially important for preserving control and clean cuts.

Q: What results should users expect from the F. Dick Pink Spirit Paring Knife 3.5"?

A: Users should expect controlled, precise cuts during small format prep work and delicate ingredient handling. The knife is intended for tasks where accuracy matters more than blade length or cutting power. For chefs and culinary students, a well balanced paring knife also improves workflow efficiency because it handles many quick detail tasks without requiring a larger knife changeover.

Q: Is the F. Dick Pink Spirit Paring Knife 3.5" comfortable for extended prep sessions?

A: Yes. The compact size and ergonomic handle profile are designed to support controlled handling during repetitive prep tasks. Professional kitchens often require frequent precision cuts throughout prep and service. A: Yes. The compact size makes it very easy to transport in culinary bags, knife rolls, or workstation kits. Paring knives are standard tools in both culinary school kits and professional chef knife rolls because they occupy minimal space while supporting a wide range of prep tasks. For mobile catering teams, culinary students, and event chefs, the smaller footprint also makes the knife practical for travel and off site prep environments.

Q: How should the F. Dick Pink Spirit Paring Knife 3.5" be cleaned and maintained?

A: The knife should be hand washed, dried immediately after cleaning, and stored safely to protect the edge. Like most professional kitchen knives, prolonged dishwasher exposure may affect edge longevity and handle condition over time. Regular honing helps maintain cutting alignment between sharpenings. A: Yes. Regular honing with a sharpening steel helps maintain cutting performance between full sharpenings. F. Dick is also widely recognized for its sharpening systems and steels, making edge maintenance an important part of the broader knife ecosystem. Honing does not replace sharpening, but it helps realign the edge during regular use and extends overall cutting efficiency. Professional users typically hone frequently and sharpen periodically depending on usage volume and cutting surfaces.

Q: What is included with the F. Dick Pink Spirit Paring Knife 3.5"?

A: The product includes the F. Dick Pink Spirit Paring Knife 3.5" itself. Professional culinary knives are generally sold individually so users can build knife kits based on their preferred workflow, prep style, and station requirements. Many chefs pair a paring knife with a chef knife, utility knife, and bread knife to create a balanced everyday prep setup.

Q: What other knives pair well with the F. Dick Pink Spirit Paring Knife 3.5"?

A: The knife pairs well with chef knives, santoku knives, utility knives, and bread knives from the Pink Spirit or Red Spirit series. A common workflow combination includes chef knife for primary prep, paring knife for precision work, serrated knife for bread and delicate skins, and utility knife for mid sized prep tasks. Keeping multiple knives within the same series also creates more consistent handle feel and cutting balance across the kit.

Q: Are there other Pink Spirit knives available in the series?

A: Yes. The Pink Spirit collection is part of the broader F. Dick professional knife family and is designed to complement additional knife types for different prep applications. Depending on availability, users may also find chef knives, santoku knives, utility knives, or specialty prep knives that follow the same design language and ergonomic approach. This allows culinary professionals and enthusiasts to build a coordinated prep kit around a familiar handle profile and cutting feel.

Q: How does the F. Dick Pink Spirit Paring Knife 3.5" compare to a larger utility knife?

A: The Pink Spirit Paring Knife 3.5" offers greater precision and maneuverability, while a utility knife provides more reach and versatility for medium sized prep tasks. Paring knives excel at close hand work, garnish preparation, peeling, and fine trimming. Utility knives bridge the gap between chef knives and paring knives by handling sandwiches, citrus, smaller proteins, and medium prep jobs. Many professional kitchens use both because they serve different workflow functions rather than replacing one another.

Q: How does the F. Dick Pink Spirit Paring Knife 3.5" compare to the Red Spirit version?

A: The primary difference is the visual identity and handle styling rather than the overall cutting philosophy. Both series emphasize professional usability, ergonomic handling, and efficient prep performance. The Pink Spirit version appeals to users who prefer a more distinctive aesthetic while still wanting the professional oriented handling characteristics associated with the Red Spirit platform. For many buyers, the decision comes down to personal preference, kitchen identity, or gifting considerations.

Q: Is the F. Dick Pink Spirit Paring Knife 3.5" a good choice for culinary students?

A: Yes. The knife is well suited for culinary students building foundational knife skills and learning precision prep techniques. Paring knives are used constantly during culinary training for tournée cuts, garnish work, vegetable trimming, and fruit preparation. A compact professional knife helps students develop better control and safer hand positioning during detailed prep. The smaller format also makes it practical for culinary kits and classroom transport.

Q: Is the F. Dick Pink Spirit Paring Knife 3.5" reliable for high volume prep environments?

A: Yes. The knife is designed for repeated precision prep work in professional culinary settings. High volume kitchens rely on paring knives for continuous small detail tasks throughout prep and service. Efficient edge retention, comfortable handling, and controlled maneuverability become especially important during repetitive station work. F. Dick’s professional kitchen positioning makes the knife appropriate for chefs who expect consistent day to day performance.

Q: Is the F. Dick Pink Spirit Paring Knife 3.5" a good gift for serious home cooks?

A: Yes. The knife combines practical culinary utility with a more distinctive visual presentation that works well for gifting. Many serious home cooks already own larger chef knives but benefit from adding a dedicated precision knife for smaller prep tasks. The Pink Spirit series offers professional grade functionality while standing out visually compared with more traditional black handle kitchen knives.
